Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies

Yacht Building Programme consists under the Department of Marine Motor Vehicles and Transport Technologies.

The objective of Yacht Building Programme is to raise qualified crafts  that will be experts in their subjects by receiving technical and design education in yacht design sector which is still open to growing and  shaping up. Yacht Building programme, different from ship building lessons curriculum, contains technical and design knowledge particular to yachts. In Turkey, especially in recent years the number of companies working on yacht design subject is rising and internal design issues are more important. Objective of this programme is to give education in the course of needs of this rapidly rising sector.

In this programme students are matriculated by getting "TYT" score of " YKS" exam and in addition to the theoretical, practical and laboratory courses in 4 semesters, there is also an internship requirement in yachts design. Graduates from this programme will be able to work in the design of yachts that are designed for various people and organizations.

Student admission to the programme has not been started yet. It is being aimed to start education with the quota of thirty (30) students.

Yacht Building Programme Curriculum was prepared; primarily regard to “YÖK” criterias, education and curriculum conditions needed in yacht design and building sector, and additionally as a result of consultation with private sector representatives, practical, experienced knowledge and informations that would be needed in the sector.
